Horizon Convention Center | Indianapolis Indian Wedding Photography | Trisha & Karna

FILED IN: Weddings

Trisha and Karna stood on the faded lawn outside the Minnetrista, drinking in the last rays of sunlight on a cool October day. The bridal party had receded back to the limo, so Trisha and Karna had a few moments alone between their ceremony and their reception. With the sun at his back, Karna pulled Trisha close and softly kissed her forehead.

Trisha and Karna started their day off with a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony and followed that up with a traditional Christian wedding ceremony. It was a lot of fun capturing both ceremonies, and it was definitely a challenging change of pace from our typical one-ceremony weddings. We were fascinated by how much more emphasis was placed on the groom for the Hindu wedding rituals. We were so fortunate to be able to capture the sehra bandi (tying of a traditional headdress on the groom) and the baraat (the groom riding a mare to the wedding ceremony with his sarbala while his family and friends precede him, dancing and singing the whole way). It was such a lovely ceremony with a terrific emphasis on the two families coming together. It was lovely, and we were so glad to be in Muncie at the Horizon Convention Center participating in a great cultural experience.
