Katy and Michael first met each other in high school. Their friendship continued into college, but it start to progress into something more. As their interactions became more apparent, they realized that although they were becoming best friends, their romantic feelings for each other were even greater. Michael and Katy pursued their relationship throughout college which led to a very heartfelt engagement and soon-to-be marriage!
Michael proposal was very close to Easter (Katy’s favorite holiday), so when Michael said he had a surprise, Katy didn’t think anything of it. As Katy was opening her eggs from her surprise Easter egg hunt and Easter basket, Michael held out a giant egg and said, “I think you forgot one.” Michael opened the egg where a gorgeous ring was hiding. Katy had no idea and was absolutely shocked. It was a very special engagement for them both.
Katy and Michael’s engagement session was a two-parter. We got rained on the first time around, but our second try ended us with some really beautiful images. Towards the end of the shoot, we stopped by to see Katy and Michael’s new home (that’s just adorable), and took a few pictures outside. Since Katy’s family loves playing bananagrams, so we incorporated the pieces of the game for a few fun pictures.
Katy & Michael: I had so much fun shooting your engagement and it was so great getting to know you both! I’m really looking forward to your November wedding!
