We decided to take Hannah & Quinton’s engagement shoot indoors at their wedding venue, The Garment Factory. It’s winter in the midwest and we’re not only battling 30 degrees or below but wet grounds as well. Not really ideal for portraits. Our couples aren’t even messing with the soggy months we’ve had. I’m a big baby when it comes to the cold, and honestly, the heat doesn’t treat me well either. Not that I would ever complain. I’m just physically and mentally dying on the inside. I’ll do anything for the photo during a shoot, and I’ll recover on the following Monday.
The Garment Factory is located in Franklin, Indiana, which is a bit of a drive from our office but one that has always been well worth it. The space was literally made for weddings. The elevator has an exit that can lead directly into the bridal suite. The large windows in the ceremony and reception location let in gorgeous natural light, but the venue also has beautiful interior lighting. We love shooting there, because it’s not always perfect weather in central Indiana.
