Inspirations {Food}

“Chai Tea has been my jam recently”

This weekend my husband and I traveled up north, with our 2 month old son,  to visit family.  Nothing is more refreshing than seeing familiar faces and spending quality time with the people you love.  Theresa, my sister-in-law, God bless her, I dragged her through the mall with me.  As we walked into the U.P. Mall in Mishawaka, I jolted into the Teavana for free samples.  Unfortunately, she isn’t a tea fan but she was such a trooper standing there with me while I found the teas I liked.  I literally made myself ill with all the samples, but ended up going with a chai tea.  Chai tea has been my jam recently. I can’t wait to steam it in my new tea maker.

Stir Fry!

My first dinner experience at Flat Top has encouraged me to start buying more fresh ingredients for my stir-fry.   Since it has been just Steve and I (AND he’s UBBER picky about veggies) I’ve played it safe with frozen stir-fry mixes. I love stir fry. If Steve would let me eat it everyday, my wok would be dirty constantly.  Going to the store tomorrow.

Starbucks Desserts

This year I’ve been so impressed with Starbucks bakery items.  I drove all the way to SB to buy blueberry muffins for my husband on his birthday and felt like a jerk for not having homemade ones when I asked him what he wanted for breakfast.  I think these were just as good if not better. OH and how I miss the cranberry bliss bars.  Is it wrong to say that I’m looking forward to winter again just for those bars!? I did find this attempt at the original : Cranberry Bliss Bars.   Since I couldn’t enjoy the original now, I tired Starbucks new Petites.  Wow, am I in trouble.  I was so impressed.  I’m a HUGE fan of the birthday cake  pop and after having one on Saturday, I convinced my husband to stop again for another on Sunday. They are just pure sugar (and my Starbucks run will probably be shortly lived), but it’s nice to indulge every once in a while.

Why I’m inspired by food:

… so if you made it down to here, I’ll tell you it’s definitely simple – it’s something people love about life.  Everyone eats, everyone likes to eat, and most like to talk about food.  I love sharing things I’ve enjoyed recently with others and I love getting new suggestions of things to try.  I think, how can my brand be like the food I can’t stop telling people about, one that a client CANNOT wait until wedding season to have their shoot?  I love to be around people and have a strong desire to make a client’s experience be a good one.  It drives me to want to get to know my clients, not only for the business but because I hope that they can walk away from the experience and want to call me a friend. I want a client to have a shoot and not think it’s just a thing to check off the list, but really enjoy every minute of it.

I do realize not every experience is going to be a “birthday cake pop” experience, but it doesn’t hurt to thrive for it. Who would complain about that?

Sushi- I love it!

I think I might have been born in the wrong hemisphere.
