The gentle water lapping against the side of the dock on Lake Wawasee sounded like the beginning of a soothing lullaby. As Katie and James stood on the end of the dock, looking out over the water, the sun sank slowly toward the horizon. They turned away from the water, leaving the glare of the sun on the surface of the water behind them, and James pulled Katie into his arms. He hugged her firmly, resting his head against her forehead, and closing his eyes, relaxing them after straining them against the suns light. Standing there the two of them almost looked as if they had physically become one, moments after ceremonially becoming one on the shore. It was a beautiful moment to capture on their wondrous wedding day.
Steve and I are so thankful Katie and James asked us to capture their gorgeous wedding on Lake Wawasee. Last year we had the honor of capturing Katie’s sister’s wedding, and it means so much to us when families love our work so much that they invite us back to capture another wedding. Katie and James were married at Katie’s parents’ lake house and then had a reception following at the Wawasee Yacht Club. They hired a boat to ferry the wedding party across the lake to the reception, and Steve got to ride in another boat to take pictures of the activities on the boat. It provided for some great photos that we’re so excited to share. Steve and I are so glad we were able to capture this charming wedding.
