On the day of their wedding, Carly and Ty took a break from the hubbub of the preparations at the Bel Air to head down the street to Highland Park. In the midst of Highland Park, a beautiful covered bridge spans the Kokomo Creek. A Smith Type #3 Truss covered bridge built by Robert Smith, the Vermont Covered Bridge is the last of its kind left standing in Indiana. The bridge was moved to Highland Park after a reservoir was planned in the 1950s that threatened to flood its original site. Without knowing its history, we were drawn to the aged bridge to capture some photos of Carly and Ty, due to its antiquated, rustic look which was in contrast to the Bel Air’s modern elegance. The whole of Highland Park was a beautiful place for a quick shoot during their wedding day, and we’re so glad that Carly and Ty suggested it to us. We had a great time spending the day with them and capturing their wedding.
