{Wedding: Katie and Shad}

FILED IN: Weddings

Katie and Shad eyes met as she walked down the aisle.  I could see joy radiating off Katie’s smile.  I honestly know he makes her happy because I don’t think I’ve ever seen a smile so big.She seemed a bit stressed before the revealing, but after they opened the doors and she stepped into the sanctuary,  only one thing mattered, she was going to marry Shad.  I saw her stress melt away.

We planned on wedding party portraits outside the church but i had noticed that it looked stormy.  We assumed that we wouldn’t get outdoor pictures, but thankfully everything think cleared up for a few minutes.  We  prepared for the slight drop of rain (umbrella on standby).  We ended the pictures a little early because of the rain but the umbrella made for a cute prop.

They had a beautiful traditional ceremony, which incorporated the signing of the marriage certificate.  I’ve never seen that done, but it makes sense.  I don’t know why it isn’t done more.  Katie was stunning.  Her halter lace dress seemed to be a perfect match to the rest of the decor.  Katie and Shad exited the ceremony with a bubble send off and drove off in a model T.

Their reception was filled with yellow and grey details. It had a real vintage feel to it.

Instead of the traditional wedding cake, Katie and Shad enjoy a piece of pie.  I have a weakness for pie.  Not only did they had some of my favorites, sugar cream and cherry, they had Wicks pies.  Wicks pies are amazing.

They shared their first dance to Randy Travis’, “Forever and Ever, Amen.”  Next Katie shared her first dance with her father,  and some heartfelt tears flowed from some of the guest, including Katie’s mom.  I’m a very emotional person, so it was hard to hold back the tears.

Everyone seemed to be having a great time.  So many guest were crazy on the dance floor.  I love that.  It makes it so much more interesting and I love giving the bride and groom some fun/crazy pictures from their reception to remember forever.

Thanks so much Katie and Shad.  Thanks for the slice of pie. Thanks for being in love. Thanks for letting me be a part of your day.  You guys are awesome and I wish you both the best.
