College sweethearts, Aj & Kate, met on the campus of Notre Dame, so it only seemed right to have an engagement session at such a sentimental place. Kate played lacrosse and Aj played baseball for their alma mater. Although they met in a small town in Indiana, they used to live halfway around the world from one another (Kate was born in Australia and AJ is from Connecticut).

After graduation, Kate spent 10 months back in Australia. During off season, AJ was able to visit and made sure he didn’t waste any time. He proposed to her along the shoreline in Sydney. “It’s one of my favorite spots” Kate said. “I know,” AJ responded, which made the proposal even more special.

AJ currently plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks played an away game against the Chicago White Sox, which allowed him to travel to South Bend from Chicago for the engagement shoot. I was very fortunate to have shot Katie & Joe Thatcher’s wedding back in December (Joe is a pitcher for the Diamondbacks), and they recommended us for the Notre Dame shoot. I’m so glad they did, because Kate & AJ were an absolute joy to be around. I loved capturing their engagement, and I’m so excited to be sharing their pictures with you today!
