Crowne Plaza Union Station Vintage Inspired Wedding | Indiana Statehouse Ceremony | Laura & Zach

FILED IN: Weddings

Crowne Plaza lay silent on the second, cold day of 2016. Two large stained-glass windows loomed over the room, one on the north side of the building and one on the south side. The vast space, filled with tables and chairs and a wooden dance floor, was lit by some stray strands of sunlight sifting slowly through the stained-glass. The light reflecting off the polished wooden dance floor left the floor looking less like pieces of wood fitted together and more like a solid piece of glass lying across the floor. After Zach and Laura finished their first look on a balcony under one of the giant stained-glass windows, they left the room by walking across the beautiful dance floor. The urge to dance, all alone, before their guests arrived was overwhelming, and as they crossed the floor they stopped to take a moment for themselves, swaying back and forth and spinning each other in rhythm to the love song playing in their heads.

Laura and Zach’s wedding at the Indiana Statehouse and reception at Crowne Plaza in the historic Union Station was so much fun. I absolutely loved Laura’s one-of-a-kind Alexandra King wedding gown. The beautiful bow on the back that doubled as her train was such an elegant touch. Laura loves vintage clothing and decorations, so Union Station was the perfect place for her wedding as it perfectly compliments her style. It was a great night, and I loved the atmosphere. Everyone just really seemed to want to celebrate the couple and to make the night special. My favorite part was that instead of just having a cake for the guests, Laura and Zach had a lovely dessert buffet. It was a huge hit. Steve and I are so grateful that we were able to capture this special day. Steve was especially excited to see the plaque in Union Station commemorating when Sir Arthur Conan Doyle visited the building. Enjoy all of the pictures of this wonderful winter wedding.
