Katie and Shad have been dating for over 5 years now. You wouldn’t know, though. They were absolutely adorable together. They’re interactions were of two people in love.
They met on a missions trip with their youth group and really hit it off. They dated shortly after. They’re a couple that really doesn’t care for PDA (or cats). We tried to avoid too much of both (especially the former).
Shad had a big plan to propose to Katie in Tennessee but a conflict with Katie’s schedule didn’t allow that to happen. They both like nature, so he thought a weekend in Brown Co. would be perfect. Shad asked Katie what date would be best and her response was not what he was expecting, “This weekend.” He panicked a bit, but everything came together by time Friday rolled around. The plan was, after horseback riding he was going to pull off to a scenic area, pour his nervous heart out to Katie. When the time came to pop the question a truck started honking it’s horn and yelling out the window. It wasn’t quite clear what they were saying but they were yelling something about Nazi loving guy that had the same vehicle as Shad that might or might not have killed someone. Katie just kept repeating, “okay, lets get in the car.” Way to kill the mood crazy locals. Well, Shad got Katie and himself into the car and drove to the next lookout. He anxiously pulled the ring out of his pocket and proposed to her. Katie later asked if he was nervous and he said yes. Her response was, “Well, you had to know I would say YES!”
Now, Katie and Shad are planning their June wedding with yellow and gray details. I had a bunch of fun with them during their session because they laughed at my non-funny jokes and really were just themselves. They were absolute naturals in front of the camera.
