What should have been a cold winter day, ended up being a beautiful wedding day for Katie and Joe. It’s very rare that in the midwest we can take snow-free wedding portraits outside without freezing in December. I can’t lie, it was a bit chilly, but completely worth the beautiful location of Katie & Joe’s new plot of land.
The happy couple decided to wait to see each other the moment Katie walked down the aisle, which left an almost irremovable smile on Joe’s face. Her father offered her a tissue as tears filled her eyes. The ceremony ended beautifully with them laughing down the aisle together.
The reception was full of people. It wasn’t a small location, but I definitely had difficulties moving around because so many people were there celebrating with the beautiful couple! The purpose of a reception is to celebrate and that is exactly what everyone did! The live band was a great addition to the crowd who loved to be on their feet. There were still hundreds of people cheering on Joe and his groomsmen as they sang “Hey Jealousy” by the Gin Bloosoms & “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” by Tom Petty (One of my favorite reception moments this year).
Katie was absolutely stunning. I had such a wonderful time spending the day with her and her family (all of them are absolute sweethearts!). We both felt so blessed to have this time to get to know them & are excited to see where the years take them!
