Shadowland Ballroom Wedding | St Joe Wedding Photography | Lane & Michael

FILED IN: Weddings

All through our lives, Lane and I have continued to bump into each other. She was a few years younger than me in elementary school. After I moved, we were assigned in the same cabin in summer church camp.  After Steve and I were married, we became a member of a church small group, that Lane’s parents led. There are very few weddings I’d want to shoot on my birthday. It’s sort of a special day in the Van Elk family. I mean, I was born on that day. All joking aside, I was ecstatic when they wanted to book with us. I really looked forward to this wedding all year, and it did not disappoint.

Lane & Michael met at a Notre Dame tailgate. Soon after they started dating, Lane just knew Michael was the one. So, she packed her belongings up and moved from Indy to South Bend, the home of the Fighting Irish.

Their wedding was held at the John E. N. Howard Bandshell, which has a gorgeous view of Lake Michigan. Lane walked in to the ceremony to John Legends “All of Me”, while tears flowed down Michael’s face and many of the guests’ faces too.

After pictures on Silver Beach, we headed to their fabulous party at Shadowland Ballroom. Guests danced through the night, and the new Mr. & Mrs. Deek were able to catch up with family and friends. It was a fabulous wedding, and we had a so much fun capturing it!
