So you want a quirky wedding? Well, if I could travel back in time, my wedding would have a woodsy feel and be filled with pastels, apple cider, and vintage dresses. I would want Wes Anderson and his film crew to capture the whole thing. “In your dreams!” would be an appropriate exclamation now. Since that wedding isn’t going to happen, I decided to make this stylized shoot as close to it as I could. I’ve got to say, if I could have jumped in a dress and married Steve all over again half way through this shoot, I would have.
This shoot was inspired by all things Wes Anderson. As a huge fan, it’s been a dream of mine to shoot in a style inspired by this brilliant director. Vendors all over the US (with many talented Indianapolis vendors) pooled their creative resources and produced a Wes Anderson inspired shoot, all the way down to the hor dourves. We did our best to represent all the movies he’s directed and also put our own creative twists to some of the details. Since we wanted the finished product to appear as if they were screen shots from one of his movies, we were very careful of the details and even hired actors to play our bride and groom.
The save the date is supposed to look like a reel of film.
We are so excited to see it featured in an upcoming Utterly Engaged Magazine issue, but until then, here’s the shoot!
