College Wesleyan Church | Marion Indiana Wedding | Caleb and Matlin

FILED IN: Weddings

The branches of a deciduous tree in Matter Park were reaching upward toward the heavens, drinking in the light from the sun with their green leaves. While the tree yearned for the warmth of the sun on this hot day in July, Caleb and Matlin took shelter from the light in the shade provided by the tree. Caleb held Matlin from behind, his arms reaching around her and holding her up against the heat. She held his arms with her hands, keeping them firmly around her as she turned her face toward him with her eyes closed. They took comfort in the strength of their newly reaffirmed and newly committed love for one another, as they begin a life of reaching toward the heavens together.

Caleb and Matlin were married at the Wesleyan College Church, on Indiana Wesleyan University’s campus in beautiful Marion, Indiana. Caleb’s father, Jim Dunn, married the two of them. He delivered a beautiful sermon. I always love it when someone who knows and loves the couple conducts the ceremony. It sets the tone for the entire day, making everything more personable. I find I always leave those ceremonies with a new perspective on the couple and feeling more endeared to them. Steve and I had so much fun capturing this wedding and visiting IWU’s gorgeous campus for photos. We wish nothing but the best to Caleb and Matlin as they embark on this new stage in their life!
