I just love when someone from the wedding party of a previous wedding contacts me for a shoot. I’ve got to know them through the previous wedding and they have an idea of how I shoot the day of the wedding. I’m so excited to shoot Erika and Colin’s wedding! I had a wonderful time at Sarah’s, one of Erika’s bridesmaids, so I know Erika’s will a blast.
Colin and Erika grew up in neighboring towns, and even attended the same youth group at one point, but it wasn’t until a few years ago that they officially met. My husband and I have these sorts of connections also, where we were at the same concert and had the same friends, but it wasn’t until our senior year of college that we had met. I love these stories. It’s like in the movies where each of them might be in the department store but the are at opposite racks or at a party and as soon as the girl enters the guy exits out another door, but before the movie is over they have their met cute. Happily ever after?
Erika and Colin are SO laid back but honestly after taking with them they are on top of the wedding planning! I was impressed. They are having a winter wedding, which I’m THRILLED about because I can’t wait to get crazy creative with the snow. Winter shots can be so beautiful.
During the engagement I was able to see Colin’s boyhood home and walk along the bike trail, that unfortunately wasn’t put in until he had already moved out into his own place. Also, I noticed that Erika has these gorgeous eyes. I really wanted to highlight in the pictures, I took many more close-ups that usually (clients LOVE them – sorry if it was super awkward guys) but it was worth the outcome.
You guys are wonderful. I had such a great time shooting your engagement!
