{Engagement: Sam and Matt}

FILED IN: Engagements

New and soon to be teachers, Sam and Matt, were so adorable on their shoot. We decided to incorporate places of their engagement day into their session. I had a wonderful time hearing about the emotion and thoughts as we visited each location. Since they both teach, I thought it would be fun to do a few in the classroom. So we finished up our shoot at Yorktown Middle School.
Sam and Matt started dating over 7 years ago. Their young love soon blossomed into a unconditional love and Matt knew it was time for him to say “forever” to Sam. Sam was picked up on her day long date which Matt prepared for her. He explained that he wanted to spend all day with her doing things they love. They started off breakfast at Concannon’s Bakery, a popular in Muncie for their amazing baked goods. After a delicious breakfast, they headed to one of my favorite places, The Artistic Within, a paint-your-own pottery studio located in downtown Muncie.

The date started off wonderfully. It was apparent Sam was having a good time. After finishing up their fun projects, Matt drove to the Westside Park, where Matt and Sam had spent many hours hanging out during college. He parked by the river and walked over to a blanket and book. Sam sat down with Matt and they both started flipping through a scrapbook. Matt had put together a timeline scrapbook for her, with a surprise at the end. As Sam turned the last page, Matt had carved out a place to put the ring box. He pulled out the ring box and got down on one knee. Sam gave a tear-filled “Yes!”

It was so wonderful shooting Matt and Sam’s engagement! I’m really looking forward to their bubbly personalities at their 2012 wedding.
