Under a bridge in downtown Louisville, Erica wrapped her arms around David from behind, coyly smiling up at him. David turned his head gently to see her, feeling the warmth of her smile even before he could see her grin. In the midst of derby week festivities and all the commotion those bring to downtown Louisville, they were alone with each other.
A few days before the Kentucky Derby, Steve and I headed down to Louisville with the kids to capture Erica and David’s engagement session. What we didn’t realize on the way down, was that most of downtown Louisville would be blocked off for Kentucky Derby Festival events. It was difficult to drive anywhere, but it was spectacular because the city seemed alive with people in a way I’ve never seen it before. I had so much fun with Erica and David, wandering around downtown, finding beautiful places to shoot. I especially loved the sign they made for their dog that said “Future Mr. Howie Paluch.” He was so cute. Steve and I can’t wait to capture their wedding this fall.
