Heavy, leather cowboy boots clomped down the wooden planks of the balcony that wrapped around the shelter, announcing the arrival of the newlyweds. Their family and friends, began to cheer as they saw them round the corner. The guests were gathered outside the shelter, on the soft grass lining the cement path that led to Leah and Cody’s getaway car. As Leah and Cody moved from the balcony to the cement, the sound their boots made switched from a hollow clomp sound to a muted click. Their guests began to toss birdseed into the air, which rained down on the couple, bouncing off of them and onto the cement beneath their feet. There were so many guests that the bird seed bouncing off the cement sounded like beans traveling through a rainstick. Leah and Cody walked hand-in-hand through this gathering of friends and family, with smiles of pure joy on their faces.
Steve and I had so much fun capturing Leah and Cody’s wedding at the Henry County Memorial Park. The park holds a special place in Steve’s heart and mine, because when we first started dating I took Steve to the park on a surprise picnic date. Later when Steve bought me my first DSLR, he took me back to the park so I could test out my new camera. It was so much fun to revisit the park and capture such a fun wedding. We had such a great time with Leah and Cody on their special day, and we’re so glad we were able to witness their wedding!
