She looked out across the grass with poise. The sun came out from behind the sparse clouds, highlighting Laura’s brilliant hair. Loose strands seemed to be set ablaze by the golden light. Her fiancé, Zach, held her with a steely strength, anchoring her to the ground and to this world. The look on his face was that of pure passion, rising to a crescendo as he gazed upon Laura’s gorgeous face. The area, downtown, was remarkably devoid of cars, people, and noise in general. As Laura and Zach stood there, rooted in the ground, I wondered if the beautiful light, the absence of noise, and the general romantic feeling were all just happenstance or if the two of them were commanding the surrounding area, the sun, the air, the people and the insects to create this moment. It was as if their very presence in the area demanded that nature bend to their love and create a perfect afternoon.
This shoot with Zach and Laura was so much fun last year. The two of them just seemed so confident and full of poise. We were able to capture a lot of wonderful photos. This blog post is a little late, seeing as we already posted their wedding photos on the blog a few months ago. Steve and I just loved this engagement session though and wanted to make sure it found its place on the blog even after so much time.
