Throw in some autumnal colors and sweaters and scarves and you are set to have an amazing family photo shoot. The Baldwins brought all of these things to their family photo shoot. family of 6 in front of tall grass in these Carmel Fall Family Photos

In a field of tall grass this family of six stood hugging each other. The grass was brown as it dried before winter and the trees in the background had just started to change colors. A few leaves had already fallen to the ground and lay scattered about. This family was so adorable, and we […]

I had so much fun capturing Jasmin’s surprise party that Najee threw! It was on top of D’Amore at night! The party had a lot of beautiful decorations that harkened back to the roarin’ 20s. Almost everyone who came to the party dressed in 1920s apparel. It was such a delightful and whimsical time! Plus, D’Amore is located at the top of Salesforce Tower, so it has a great view of Indianapolis!

Deep in the library amongst the rows of books, Allison and Daniel sat on the floor. Staring at each other with a deep sense of satisfaction and love. We were so lucky to be able to capture this moment with the two of them, when they took a break from the wedding and reception to relax for a moment. We’re so happy we were able to capture Allison and Daniel’s lovely Indianapolis Public Library wedding.

The sun was setting and it was time to run outside to make use of the beautiful light. Unfortunately, by the time we were able to get outside, the sun had already dropped below the horizon. I looked at my second shooter, Ryan, and asked him if he’d been able to find any places which still had some great light. Ryan suggested using off camera flash and just getting a little creative. I’m so glad he did because those photos ended up being some of my favorite photos of this last year. So glad this Muncie wedding with Kristen and Tyler was so much fun and that we were able to capture so many beautiful moments throughout their day.

The sun was setting behind 1899 and golden light was streaming through the windows and illuminating the the chairs all aligned for the wedding. In the middle of the aisle, two white chairs were placed next to each other in the center of the window light. Chrissy and Kris sat in the chairs, so close that their knees touched, as the opened and read the letters they wrote to one another. As they read the letters, tearing up a little bit (or maybe that was just me), they leaned over to kiss.

I was able to go back to downtown Indianapolis to shoot another Pattern Magazine launch party! These parties are so much fun. I’m so lucky to have been asked to shoot two of them now. In this video I used an effect I created for post production meant to mimic the look of holding a prism in front of your camera lens. I did it in post because doing it while shooting is hard. Faking it in post is a little easier. I also played around with a lot of kaleidoscope type effects that I worked on to highlight the awesome lighting situation at the party! If you want to see more stills from the shoot to get a better idea of the visuals, check out the blog post.

The sun slowly slid behind the Hilbert Conservatory at the Indianapolis Zoo, sending brilliant orange rays across the White River. Standing on the pedestrian bridge over the river, Rebecca and Jake held each other close. Jake brushed a wisp of hair out of Rebecca’s face, and then leaned down and kissed her.

The sun hung low in the sky, lighting up the skyline of downtown Chicago. On the shore of Lake Michigan, in the Belmont Harbor Park, Allison and Daniel stood hand in hand. As a cold breeze blew off the lake and over the park, Allison and Daniel hugged each other to keep warm.
