The water on Lake Michigan was still. No waves were washing ashore, not even a ripple. Standing on the shore, shoes touching the water, Elena and Ross stood hugging as the sunset behind them. The golden hue of the setting sun reflected off the lake, backlighting them as they kissed. This was just one magical moment from these Indiana Dunes engagement photos. These photos are all wonderful because the light was just amazing during this shoot. I kind of want to do all future photo sessions at the Indiana Dunes National Park. Can you blame me?
I grew up traveling to Lake Michigan in the summer and on the weekends to swim. I have never seen the water as still as it was during this engagement shoot. It looked like you could walk out on the water if you wanted. This engagement session was one of my favorites from last. Elena and Ross were so much fun and they brought their dog to do some photos too. I think this shoot might be what tipped me over to loving having dogs at photo shoots.

If you loved the photos from this post, then check out some of our other recent blog posts for more great photos.
Firstly, check out this wonderful engagement session with Lauren and Campbell at Laguna Beach. This is another engagement session we did that incorporated a lot of water and sand. It is a little different though because the California coast is a bit different than the Indiana Dunes Lakeshore. But I mean, look at the photos and tell me which beach you would rather visit.
Also, check out this amazing destination wedding with Kylie and Rick in Punta Cana. Again, a lot of beach and water and sand in these photos. Again, a much different feel though because it is in the Dominican Republic instead of the midwest. But go ahead and check these photos out as well and tell me which beach you rather visit.
Lastly, check out this charming wedding with Katie and James Lake Wawasee. Finally we are back in Indiana with these recommendations. We are also at a lake and not the ocean this time. Not much sand here though. Probably not a beach you want to visit, but a nice place to go boating and do a little water skiing.
If you loved the photos in this post, then consider visiting the Indiana Dunes National Park!
