This year has been crazy with all of the weddings and events that have had to reschedule due to the pandemic. So it was wonderful that this past weekend we were able to capture one of the most amazing and intimate weddings we’ve ever seen. Megan and Wes had an elopement in their backyard with a few close friends and family members. We loved this wedding. It was a solid reminder that weddings and love and friendship and happiness aren’t canceled this year. This ceremony took place in Wes’s parents’ backyard and the reception afterward was in Megan and Wes’s backyard. This Indianapolis elopement with Megan and Wes was so much fun and filled with so much laughter.
Some of our Favorite Things from This Wedding
Some of the amazing things from this wedding. Megan had a pair of shoes that belonged her great grandmother. They were beautiful white shoes. The shoes were simple and elegant. They retained their regal beauty generations of use. She didn’t wear them all day, but she did put them on for some photos at the end of the night.
Their officiant was asked the night before the wedding to step in, because their original officiant couldn’t be there. He did a wonderful job and made everyone laugh a lot. He also shared words of love and affirmation from their family members who couldn’t attend which was a beautiful part of the ceremony that we loved.
And finally, one of my favorite thing from this wedding, Megan and Wes love bourbon. They had a bourbon cart at the reception with some great bourbons on it, like Elijah Craig 18 Year Single Barrel and W. L. Weller Full Proof. Also, their centerpieces for the tables were empty Blanton’s bottles. As someone who loves bourbon, it was really cool.
