Wedding Advice from the Wedded| Happy Anniversary Kathryn & Nate

I had the privilege to interview one of our couples from 2019! Kathryn & Nate were married at Cornerstone Center for the Arts in Muncie, IN. While they planned their wonderful wedding, Kathryn spent a year in Paris and Nate finished up school at Ball State University. Today they celebrate their 1st wedding anniversary and look back at their wonderful event.

Thanks so much for answering these Kathryn! I know your experience will be a great help to couples planning. What were some of the most important things for you on your wedding day?
Spending one-on-one time with Nathan in the morning before any of the craziness of the day began.
Enjoying the day as it happens and trying not to worry about all the moving parts and details.
Shortly after the wedding, writing down every moment and detail of what happened.

I love that last one. It happens so fast! It’s hard to remember every detail. I think that’s wonderful advice.
What are some things you wish you wouldn’t have stressed about?

I wish I would not have stressed about trying to make it around to every guest at the reception. It is important to greet and visit with your guests, but I focused too much on needing to get around to everyone and the reception just flew on by and I felt like I missed out on some fun. I didn’t even eat dessert!

Ah! You have to have dessert! Your dessert was amazing as well. Hopefully you were able to snag a couple cookies before you left for your honeymoon. What is something you’d suggest for couples to focus on when planning this year? I would suggest prioritizing a quality videographer. Having quality video of your wedding is just priceless because it helps tell the story in a way that’s different from photos. (Photos are obviously important, too)

Haha, well thank you! I totally agree. That was always our biggest regret. We wish we would have had video of the full day of our wedding but I’m thankful for the beautiful photos!
Thank you so much for sharing your wedding wisdom and Happy Anniversary!
