Today we are looking back at one our favorite couples! Alli & Jamie married 1 year ago today! I cannot believe how the time has flown. This was one of the easiest weddings to capture. Firstly, Alli and Jamie were just so excited to get married. Also, they surrounded themselves with people who were also excited to see them get married. If you’d like to see a highlight of their day, time travel to our post last July about their Omni Severin wedding. But now, they have some wedding advice for couples currently planning their own events!

Happy Anniversary Alli & Jamie! The year has flown. Looking back, what were the 3 most important things for you for your wedding day?

1. It was extremely important for us to be with friends and family as much as possible throughout our wedding day. We planned our entire day to maximize our time to be with the people we love.
 2. The photography was one of our top priorities when planning our wedding. We worked closely with Jenn to carefully plan so that each part of our big day was perfectly captured. We loved working with her and we are so happy with how our pictures turned out. 
3. James and I love to dance so the DJ was a huge part of planning our reception. This important detail paid off. The dance floor was packed for our entire reception. 

Looking back, is there anything you’d change or wish you wouldn’t have stressed?

We were stressed about the weather leading up to our wedding day. Looking back, we now realize this was something that we had absolutely no control of and wish we wouldn’t have lost sleep over! 

What are a few tips you have for readers?

Figure out with your fiance what is important to just the two of you and make sure to stick true to that throughout the wedding planning process. Don’t lose focus of your vision!
Let go of the things you do not have control over. Everything will turn out if you make sure to have a good attitude and focus on the things important to you two. A lot of things that happened unplanned ended up making some of the best memories around our wedding time. 
Try to plan as many big details early as you can and stick to a timeline; this helped us avoid a lot of stress over timing and budget as we approached our wedding day. 
Remember, this day is about celebrating the love you have for each other and don’t forget that when you feel stressed!
